Shelter 03:27
SHELTER What’s it worth, this life I’m living If I live it only for myself All the beauty and the love I have to share What else is there There is a place where we belong Solitary, upon a stone Until we get there, I’ll be strong And carry on – oh, we carry on How’s it been out in the wasteland How’s it been out in the cold Truth be told, I was a fool – missin’ out on every chance Hey now I understand There is a place where we remain Solitary, upon a plain Until we get there along the way We carry on – oh, we carry on When your fears come calling When the world weighs down on you When all hope has left you – oh I’ll give you shelter from the storm Shelter from the storm We carry on – we carry on… When your fears come calling When the world weighs down on you When all hope has left you – oh I’ll give you shelter from the storm Shelter from the storm

Last Train 03:59
LAST TRAIN Taking our time We never paid any mind To all of the signs Coming over the rise Those were the days We never thought that they would fade Then came the rain And everything changed Here’s to the good times Laid to rest, once and for all Here’s to the days before the fall And where are your heroes When you need them the most They’re all taking the last train out of town Let’s go for a ride The moon is full of promise tonight Let’s go for a ride Just you and I These are the days The days when we’re starting to feel the strain ‘Cause after the rain Everything changed Here’s to the good times Laid to rest, once and for all Here’s to the days before the fall And where are your heroes When you need them the most They’re all taking the last train out of town They’re all taking the last train out of town… And I could play the blues But I can’t stop the rain Baby I can’t ease the pain That aches you And I can’t stop the news That’s coming down the line Telling of the troubled times We’re going through Baby, I can’t take the lie That’s weighing on your mind And make it all alright Baby, I can’t take the lie That’s weighing on your mind And make it all alright – all alright

Little Jen 04:06
LITTLE JEN Little Jen Tell me where have you been Did you go out driving All night again Little Jen D’you have trouble with sleeping Is it so hard to believe in That there’s a place in this world – For you There’s a lot of life to go around And all you need to do is figure out If you’re gonna spend it in and out Of love all the time – Little Jen There’s a light in this world But it’s slowly receding As you go down those roads Where shadows grow tall If that’s really where you wanna go Know that I’ll miss you – Little Jen … There’s a light in this world But it’s slowly receding As you go down those roads Where shadows grow tall If that’s really where you wanna go – really where you wanna go – really where you wanna go Know that I’ll miss you, my friend – Little Jen

BOUGHT AND SOLD It’s time to get violent Don’t have faith in your government It’s just a bunch of liars, looking out for themselves Start a riot, give ‘em hell – Hell They left us hanging – and bled us dry They kept us waiting – and fed us lies They sold the truth out – to rob us blind Now our lives are on hold The future’s been bought and sold They’ve got us down on our knees To sit up and beg ‘em please But they can never take us all Yes it’s time, don’t wait too long We’ve got to set straight all that’s wrong They’ve got the law, but we’ve got the heart Oh, we’ve got the numbers, let’s take ‘em on – On They left us hanging – and bled us dry They sold the truth out – and fed us lies They kept us waiting – and robbed us blind Now our lives are on hold The future’s been bought and sold They’ve got us down on our knees To sit up and beg ‘em please But they can never take us all – They’ll never take us all, no Now our lives are on hold The future’s been bought and sold They’ve got us down on our knees To sit up and beg ‘em please But they can never take us all – They’ll never take us all, no Oh, it’s time to get violent Don’t have faith in your government It’s just a bunch of liars, looking out for themselves So go start a riot, let’s give ‘em hell – Hell

about

ROBERT HUGH BROWN proudly presents his new EP "DOWN THE LINE". Featuring a fantastic line-up of guest musicians, including seasoned guitarist Bart Oostindie (Mo'Jones, Arno Adams a.o.) and drummer Ruud van Bree (Wolfendale), with co-producer Martijn Vaassen (Parallel Sound, Fabrik Royale) handling bass guitar duties, Roel van den Nieuwenhoff on piano and organ, and Ed van Hees (ex Sparrow Falls) on banjo and mandolin.

"DOWN THE LINE" serves as a showcase of RHB's skill and range as a songwriter, featuring four diverse and distinct tracks, ranging from rocking opener "SHELTER" and the rootsy "LAST TRAIN" to the mournful, haunting "LITTLE JEN", with anthemic closer "BOUGHT AND SOLD" showing RHB at his most overtly political.
